This morning at 10:00 am our students in grades 2-8 came together in our school auditorium to pray The Rosary. Our students joined children from all across the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis to stand in unity and prayer with our brothers and sisters at Annunciation.

Our students were incredibly reverent and prayerful as we participated in this beautiful prayer tradition.

Saint Thomas More stands with our extended family at Annunciation. Please continue to prayer for the students, families and staff of that wonderful community as they heal and continue to be a shining exampke of faith, hope, and love.❤️

Dear St. Thomas More Families,

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible crowd of parents who attended this morning’s first all-school Mass. As I looked out over the congregation, I was moved by the outpouring of unity and prayer in support of our students and our entire community. I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Just one week ago, our community was shaken by the tragic events that unfolded at Annunciation Church last Wednesday morning. And yet, this morning, the sanctuary of St. Thomas More was filled with light and abundant love. The energy in the pews was both palpable and deeply comforting to all in attendance.

As I distributed communion and walked to the back of the church, my eyes filled with tears. I thought about how incredibly precious each child is to me, how much this community means to me, and how much I know it means to all of you. In the face of last week’s violence, I find profound comfort in the strength of our shared faith, hope, and love. These qualities shine brighter than any darkness.

Let us continue to be that light and that love—for one another, and for the larger community that surrounds us. Please continue to keep our brothers and sisters at Annunciation in your prayers. And please know that you are ALWAYS welcome to join us for school Mass on Wednesdays at 8:30am.

We are blessed—so very, very blessed.

Saint Luke's was my Childhood Church and School ......and years thereafter..... and I never once felt afraid. I am so heartbroken for everyone at Annunciation.

You and RJ are such amazing men, with difficult vocations, doing a marvelous job of lovingly making the gospels available to such an incredible community of families and their children. I pray for you both often.

Well said, Pat Lofton 👏 but then again, I am not surprised.

Dear St. Thomas More Families:

Our hearts and prayers are with the students, teachers, and community at Annunciation Catholic School in South Minneapolis.

This morning we learned of an active shooter situation unfolding on their campus. In response to this tragic event, our school is keeping all of our students and staff inside pending further details about this developing situation. We are in communication with Saint Paul Police.

Please keep the Annunciation community in your prayers during this very difficult time.

Sincerely,

Pat Lofton RJ Fichtinger

Praying for all the tragedies in these mass shooting are not the weapons they choose but the shooter themselves who seem to be possessed by an inity that is not our Holy Father but one who has the characteristics of Satan this is what GOD has laid on my heart is the cause n affect of the problem
