Barb has been working in Early Childhood Education for 33 years, including 13 wonderful years here at Saint Thomas More Preschool. Her connection to the STM community goes back 20 years, as her own children were once STM students.
As the leader of Saint Thomas More Preschool, Barb believes that children learn best when they feel safe, loved and connected. Relationships are so important in preschool, between teachers and students, as well as among peers. Teachers embrace the Jesuit philosophy of educating the whole child, helping children develop confidence and independence.
Barb recognizes that every child develops at their own pace. Through play and classroom routines, teachers help children learn to navigate the many emotions that come with growing up.
Barb’s goal is to create a preschool environment where every child feels a strong sense of belonging and knows they are an important part of our community. At STM, we celebrate each child and their family for who they are and the unique gifts they bring to our school.
For Barb, being part of the Saint Thomas More community is about so much more than preschool—it’s about building relationships that last for years.
