Pat Lofton is a Catholic educator, leader, husband, father, and lifelong advocate for the power of community. For more than 35 years, he has been blessed to serve Catholic schools at the university, elementary school, diocesan, and national levels, always guided by a simple belief: when people feel known, valued, and connected to a shared mission, extraordinary things can happen.
Throughout his career, Pat has been drawn to places where he can bring people together, help others discover their gifts, and create environments where children and adults can flourish. As Head of School of St. Thomas More, he has helped lead a vibrant, inclusive community grounded in faith, academic excellence, and the Jesuit tradition. Under his leadership, the school has experienced tremendous growth in enrollment and diversity while strengthening its faculty, programs, facilities, and connection to the parish community.
But for Pat, leadership has never been simply about numbers or accomplishments. It is about relationships – the student who discovers who they are and who God needs them to be in our world, the teacher who grows in love of their vocation, the colleague who takes a courageous next step, the family who feels genuinely welcomed, and the community that comes together around something bigger than itself. He considers mentoring others, building strong teams, and helping people feel that they belong among the most meaningful parts of his work.
Pat’s Catholic faith is at the center of who he is. He is an active member of the St. Thomas More community, serving as a cantor and Eucharistic minister, and he finds great joy in sharing his gifts through music and service. He is also a proud father and husband and he considers raising his children one of his greatest accomplishments and one of life’s greatest blessings.
Whether leading a school, singing at Mass, gathering around a dinner table, restoring an old home, traveling, or simply spending time with family and friends, Pat approaches life with gratitude, joy, humor, and a genuine love for people. His greatest hope is to leave every community he serves stronger, more connected, and more joyful than he found it.
